• Involved in Clermont government for 19 years, appointed to the Planning Board in 1991, elected in 2006 to the Town Council

Accomplishments

• Chair of the Columbia County Democratic Committee, familiar with County government
• Chair of the Clermont Democrats.
• Shepherded a NYSERDA energy audit to completion, which is the first step required for any future grants for energy efficiency projects.
• Prepared the documentation and application for historic designation of the Clermont Historic Civic District at the Hamlet Village Green.
• Advocated for the Hamlet Planning Study and helped to coordinate with Behan Associates the public planning hearings.
• Coordinated School Budget presentations for all three school districts that serve Clermont students.
• Serves on the Board of Trustees of the Clermont State Historic Site, with the objective of bringing greater awareness of the Town to the State Park and greater utilization of the State Park by the Town.
• Advocated for submission of monthly financial reports by the Town bookkeeper so that the Town Board can review the status of accounts.
• Assisted in the review of and amendment to zoning regulations. Brought extensive experience in other towns’ regulations to comment on Clermont’s drafts.
• Supports local business, agriculture, and Fire Volunteers.
• Unbiased review of Town matters in a careful, detail-oriented manner.
• Resident of Clermont for more than 20 years
